In the mid-1990s, Rupert Murdoch and Kerry Packer went to war over pay TV rights, splitting rugby league into two rival competitions, triggering years of court battles and leaving clubs bankrupt or merged out of existence.

Hissing at Minns 🐍
On Sunday, the NSW Socialists held its state election campaign launch in Sydney's inner west, drawing a crowd of a couple of hundred people.
The party is a new offshoot of the Victorian Socialists, and its secretary says the key difference from the Greens is that the party is explicitly anti-capitalist.
