This morning I got up bright and early for one reason: One Nation MP Barnaby Joyce, who was hosting a press conference at 7:30am. Lucky me!

Would you have a nuclear waste storage facility in New England?
🗣️ Why did I say that?
Barnaby Joyce sent out a cryptic media release on Sunday night, calling a press conference for the following morning.
At the press conference, Joyce coal and nuclear as Australia’s real energy future solutions.
But – if you’ve been subscribed to this newsletter for a while – you’ll know from my previous reporting the CSIRO estimates it would take at least 15 years for nuclear power to come onto the grid.
So I asked Joyce whether nuclear was a solution for the 2030s or the 2040s.
I also asked if he would have a nuclear waste storage facility in his electorate of New England.
Currently, Australia manages it’s nuclear waste by storing it at facilities like hospitals, universities and the research reactor at Lucas Heights in Sydney.
But Australia does not has a permanent facility for the storage of its nuclear waste.

The corpse is so badly decomposed that police in Sydney have to fish out the skin of the dead man's hand and wear it like a glove to get fingerprints.

What followed involved a secret admirer, a love letter written under a fake name, and a witness shot dead by his own wife after giving evidence.
