⏱️This edition of the National Account’s newsletter is a four-minute read.
👋 G’day everyone, Archie here.

I hope you all managed to stay cool, safe and dry this weekend (depending on where in the country you are).
Somehow, I did manage to find a pool to swim in when the mercury hit 42 degrees here in Sydney.
Now let’s crack on with the news🗞️
I’ve got confidence in the Royal Commission but there may be elements that need to be investigated quickly, as it relates to NSW issues
🗣️ Why did he say that?
Last week, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced a Royal Commission into antisemitism and social cohesion in Australia.
But what do these commissions actually do, and what has the discourse been since its announcement?

Extra for experts 🤓
As you might remember from Friday’s newsletter, the ACT is the first jurisdiction in the country to ban the fossil fuel industry’s involvement in its schools.
Now included in the territory’s prohibited sponsors list, the fossil fuel industry is now sorted among other pillars of the community, like gambling and tobacco. This means that these industries are no longer allowed to provide goods or services to schools in exchange for the ability to access or market to students.
Here is my full chat with ACT Greens Deputy Leader to further explain what this means for Australian school students.

Thanks for catching up with me. I hope you enjoyed this issue, and I’d love to hear your thoughts. Just reply to this email and I’ll be on the other side 👋
I’ll be back on Wednesday.
Cheers, Archie
