⏱️This edition of the National Account’s newsletter is a five-minute read.

👋 G’day everyone, Archie here.

We’ve got two longer pieces for you today, you lucky things.

The first interview I have is with the Mid North Coaster’s Ellie Chamberlain about an overwhelmed Mid North Coast GP clinic that has had to close its books, and is now losing two doctors. One of whom is leaving due to a lack of childcare in South West Rocks.

The second is an interview with the West Vic Brolga’s Zara Cuthbertson about western Victoria’s terrible run, with catastrophic fires on one side and brutal, raging floods on the other. Zara tells me about the impact this has had on the community, and what support is available.

Anyway, let’s crack into the news 🗞️

They're just saying, look, we are at full capacity. We can't take any more patients on. Good luck to you.

And hopefully you find somewhere else.

That's pretty incredible.

The Mid North Coaster’s Ellie Chamberlain

🗣️ Why did she say that?

Books remain firmly closed at a GP clinic on the NSW Mid North Coast, after it lost two doctors in two months.

The Mid North Coaster's Ellie Chamberlain says the lack of childcare in the town of South West Rocks has contributed to the shortage, leaving patients without essential care close to home.
