Just as it was kicking off, I thought maybe I’d have a go at researching the points being made — live, as it was happening.

Picture this: it’s Monday night, I’m about to wind down and relax after sending out my last newsletter.

I go to YouTube, and out of the corner of my eye I see a picture of Karl Stefanovic, Angus Taylor and Matt Canavan.

Because I have a poor work life balance, I think: why not give it a watch?

And I heard some things that weren’t quite right.

Like Matt Canavan claiming the shift to renewable energy would use two Tasmania’s worth of land.

According to Professor Andrew Blakers from ANU, the real number is less than 2 percent of the spacial footprint of Tasmania.

Who’s behind this? 🌳

A campaign claiming to fight for "affordable energy" presents itself as a grassroots voice for everyday Australians.

In reality, Affordable Energy Australia is being run by an anti-renewable activist and the pro-nuclear “Coalition for Conservation“, with a website domain originally registered to a National Party think tank.
