Searches for "monoculture" spiked dramatically after Pauline Hanson addressed the National Press Club — and most people typing it into Google were simply trying to find out what the word meant.
It's an agricultural word, technically, but the political version, straight from the Cambridge dictionary, means a culture that's the same everywhere.
The question nobody seems to want to answer: whose culture, exactly?
