The Bondi Beach Attack has spurred a lot of discussion about Australia’s gun laws, with National Cabinet now considering reforms spearheaded by WA Premier Roger Cook and NSW Premier Chris Minns.
Australia now has about 4 million guns, with NSW leading the country, having over 1.1 million.
One of the reforms being consistently mentioned is the introduction of a cap on the number of guns someone can own, like in WA.
University of Queensland Associate Criminology Professor Suzanna Fay says it’s unclear how effective a measure like caps would be.
In the case of the Bondi attack, she says we need to know more information.
