A 2026 report produced by a Senate Committee investigating mis-and-disinformation in climate change has detailed a raft of alleged tricks used by the fossil fuel industry to push back against renewable energy.
Over the last few weeks I’ve worked my way through the report, which also focused on the shortcomings of governments, media, and the clean energy sector.
I then sat down, went back through my notes, turned on the camera and had a chat about a few things I’ve learned.

Funding fake community groups (astroturfing).
Creating science education resources for schools.
Filling the information gaps communities have about renewables with lies.
