Hate speech laws on hold as PM pivots to gun reform

After the Bondi attack, Labor tried to push gun reforms and hate speech laws through Parliament as one bill.

But with the Greens refusing to back the hate speech provisions, Anthony Albanese split the legislation to get the gun reforms through, while the free speech debate continues.
