This week I had the pleasure of sitting down with the team behind an Instagram account that, I won’t lie, more often than not gets a chuckle out of me: Toilet Paper Australia.

Admins Raushaan Seychell and Caitlin Lannoy give me the rundown on how the account started, how they verify what they post, why they refuse to take money from political parties, and whether they think they're actually changing anyone's mind.

The TPA team are among the “new media“ content creators I’ve spoken to who, despite their work, refuse the title “journalist“.

Punter’s Politics would be another — and Cheek Media’s Hannah Ferguson rejects the title as well.

As someone who is a journalist, I don’t think what they do isn’t that dissimilar to me at all. I mean, both TPA and Cheek are going to the Federal Budget lockup next week.

So what do they call themselves? I give the rundown below:
